If you have never dived before, don't worry, with us you can dive on the principle of discovery scuba dives, which means that every day you learn to dive, having 2 dives a day in the sea on the nearby beautiful reefs full of colorful ecosystems.

If you ready for it, we can take you on any of our daily dive trips where we typically have 2 dives in some of the most well know dive spots in the Archipelago. This is a package of 2 scuba dives a day with a 2hr break between the dives, during the 2hr break we relax on the beach on one of the islands of Bazaruto Archipelago or motor/sail to watch whale sharks or Dugongs.

Full Archipelago Experience

This is our flagship diving package, created for certified Advanced Open Water divers (minimum requirement). You'll explore a different reef each day across the stunning Bazaruto Archipelago—and if weather permits, we'll also include at least one night dive during your stay.

This package gives you the opportunity to experience the full range of reefs and islands, with expert guidance, comfortable accommodation, and everything taken care of for you.

Package Details:

6 nights accommodation at a high-standard European-style hotel
Full board (all meals included)
5 days of diving, with daily double tank dives
One night dive (weather dependent)
Bazaruto National Park entry fees
Airport transfers (to and from Vilankulo)
Daily boat transport to dive sites

2 Mile Reef

Depth: 10–22 m (Aquarium: 1–9 m)
Includes: The Gap, Aquarium, Kingfish Alley
Experience Level: Beginner–Advanced
Travel Time: ~60 min from Vilankulos

A long barrier reef running between Bazaruto and Benguerra Islands, 2 Mile Reef is the archipelago’s most famous dive site. Divers can explore vibrant hard and soft corals, sandy channels, and dramatic drop-offs rich with marine life.

The Gap – an advanced tidal channel drift with strong currents and large schooling fish.
Aquarium – a shallow, protected basin ideal for snorkeling and training dives, best around a 2.5 m tide.
Kingfish Alley – known for hunting trevallies and patrolling reef sharks.

Highlights: turtles, reef sharks, rays, mobula rays, bannerfish, groupers, sweetlips, snappers. Strong currents may occur.

5 Mile Reef

Depth: 8-20m
Experience Level: Intermediate–Advanced

A flat, open reef system with a mix of caves and gentle swim-throughs. While less colourful than 2 Mile Reef, it is excellent for blue-water encounters.

Highlights: Zambezi (bull) sharks, large pelagic fish, seasonal hunting action.

12 Mile Reef (Twelve Mile Reef)

Depth: 18-25m (dropping to ~44m)
Experience Level: Advanced

Located about 12 nautical miles NNE of Bazaruto Island, this offshore reef offers ridges, overhangs, and cave systems with frequent drift diving conditions. Expect pristine coral and powerful open-ocean life..

Highlights: bull sharks, manta rays, turtles, big game fish, oceanic schooling species, occasional rare aggregations.

Allan’s Realm

Depth: 20-32m
Experience Level: Advanced

Two deep pinnacles rising sharply from the seabed create one of the richest biodiversity hotspots in the region.

Highlights: giant guitar sharks, manta rays, barracuda schools, reef sharks, occasional scalloped hammerheads.

Amphitheatre

Depth: ~20-30 m
Experience Level: Open Water (experienced) / Advanced

Named for its curving walls, caverns, and dramatic overhangs, Amphitheatre is a spectacular deep reef known for large marine life.

Highlights: large mantas, bull sharks, rays, turtles, and strong game-fish activity.

Baluba

Depth: 8-15 m
Experience Level: Beginner–Intermediate

A low, rocky reef with plenty of holes, ledges, and nooks—perfect for slow, careful diving and macro photography.

Highlights: moray eels, crustaceans, scorpionfish, small macro life, occasional turtles.

Camel Humps

Depth: 14-40 m
Experience Level: Advanced

Twin pinnacles separated by a canyon form an exciting deep dive site with blue-water possibilities.

Highlights: rays, groupers, seasonal hammerheads, and occasional tiger sharks.

Greek Temple

Depth: 12-18 m
Experience Level: Open Water / Advanced

A photogenic reef of caves, overhangs, and arch-like formations. Best dived at low tide when sunlight penetrates the caverns for beautiful natural lighting.

Highlights: snappers, parrotfish, barracuda, healthy coral structures.

Marlin Pinnacle

Depth: Average 30 m, max 37 m
Experience Level: Advanced

An offshore pinnacle and steep drop-off attracting fast-moving pelagic species.

Highlights: tuna, kingfish, marlin sightings, and larger game fish.

Pinnacles

Depth: 14 - 40 m
Experience Level: Advanced

A network of deep canyons, caves, and towering formations between reef systems.

Highlights: rays, large groupers, The Potholes, and frequent bull shark encounters.

Magaruque Reef / Magaruque Island

Depth: Avg 6 m, max ~14 m
Experience Level: Beginner to Advanced (depending on drift)
Travel Time: ~30 min from Vilankulos

A shallow, lively reef ideal for snorkeling and relaxed macro dives. Advanced divers can try the Magaruque Express, an exhilarating drift along the island’s eastern side.

Highlights: turtles, dolphins, colourful reef fish, patch reefs, calm sandy areas.

The Potholes

Depth: 5 - 12 m
Experience Level: Intermediate–Advanced Conditions: Low tide and calm weather only

A maze of caves, circular pothole depressions (some up to 35 m wide), and overhangs. Unique topography with surprising biodiversity.

Highlights: blacktip reef sharks, nurse sharks, hiding macro life.

Turtle Ridge

Depth: ~14 m
Experience Level: Beginner–Intermediate

A long, flat reef famous for its resident turtle population. Clear visibility and gentle structure make it ideal for photography.

Highlights: turtles, parrotfish, snappers, barracuda, relaxed reef life.

Is Mozambique and Vilanculos safe for tourists?

It's probably the safest tourist destination in all of Africa; thefts are very rare, and the Mozambican people are an incredibly peaceful nation.

Is it easy to get malaria in Vilanculos?

With proper precautions, such as mosquito repellent and mosquito nets at night, the likelihood of getting malaria is very low.

How to get to Vilanculos?

–

The easiest way is to fly from any major European city with a layover in Johannesburg (JHB Airport), but you can also go to Johannesburg, South Africa, and then take the Inter-cape bus to Maputo, Mozambique, and then another bus from Maputo-Junta to Vilanculos.

Do I need a visa for Mozambique?

- Most citizens of the EU, the US, Canada, and some countries do not require visas for stays up to 30 days, but you should check in person (visas must be submitted to the immigration website).

When is the cyclone season in the Mozambique Channel?

Cyclones in the Mozambique Channel usually occur between February and mid-April.

Is traveling by public transport in Mozambique safe?

Yes, it is very safe. Mozambicans love and respect tourists because tourism improves their quality of life.
